I believe my work represents a wide scope of concepts and ideas; mainly, I focus on social and cultural issues and its relevance in our current time. I am also interested in the human condition and the psychology of it all, and how it can tie into societal norms and traditions, with the focus never straying from my experience as an Arab woman in the middle east.
e project I am working on is about the psychology of human self-perception and emotional repression and how they can affect a person and their reality. I want to focus on portraiture and visually represent the distorted and warped idea we have about ourselves and potentially our surroundings.
Because of those emotions and turbulent feelings, different aspects of our lives try to fight for our attention, and I want to visually show this war that goes on in our minds.
I think that a lot of people can relate to this topic because it is something that is common in our society and generation. We often feel the stress of overachieving and can easily forget and lose our identity and sense of self.
